EAK: MFU Conclave 2009
The 1st ever Flyfishing Conclave was held in Empangan Ayer Kuning, Shah Alam, Malaysia (EAK ) by Malaysian FlyRodders.com (formerly known as Malaysian FlyRodders Underground) and it was an honor for me to join the gathering. I caught my first fish (Pacu) on fly with the help of a senior, my friend Sharule and since then was hooked up with flyfishing like a magnet. There were so many who gave me tips/tricks and showed me ways to cast the flyrod. Learned alot during the conclave. Boy! This place is so beautiful. Bentong: Sikang FlyFishing
Malayan Hill Trout or better known as Sikang locally is a must to fish by all fly fishermen here in Malaysia. These fish is cunning and can be easily spooked. Need lots of patience and abit of luck to hook this fish. They normally take dry flies but also have been caught with terrestrial and spoon fly. Bagan Datoh: Tarpon
The Indo-Pacific tarpon or oxeye, Megalops cyprinoides, inhabits tropical coastal and brackish waters of the IndoPacific oceans. These tarpons are very strong and fast. You have to try fishing them with your UL rods. I've seen them striping the flyline out from the reel in matter of seconds. Bedong: Barra and Herring
Ah Thye Saltwater Fish Pond, located in Bedong, North of Sg.Petani. A place that should go to have the fish with the fun. These ponds are stocked with Barra's, Milky's, Tarpon's, Lady's and lots more. Click on the photo to enjoy some snaps taken with my friends while fishing at Ah Thye's Fishing Pond, Bedong Kedah.. :)
Tg.Malim: Conclave MFR 2010 " The Stream Dance"
We planned our next MFR Conclave at Sg.Samak, Tg.Malim. We came out with a theme called "The Stream Dance". Why? Because when you see the stream flowing through those rock, it looks as if it's dancing. Such a beautiful place it is. The clear water and the sound of the stream just makes you so relaxed. Kuala Kubu Bahru: Pertak Dam
A sudden plan lead us to the Pertak Dam just to fish the Hampala Barb Commonly known as Sebarau. A mighty fighter of it's kind. The dam is a very beautiful place, lush greenaries and wonderful landscape. Click on the photo to enjoy some snaps taken during our trip to Pertak Dam, KKB.. :)
